'Stress incontinence' is the most common type of incontinence found in women who have had children. It is especially common after childbirth due to the strain put on pelvic floor muscles during pregnancy and childbirth. Women with stress incontinence find they will leak urine if they laugh too hard, sneeze, cough or do exercise. Learning to do pelvic floor exercises properly is really important for strengthening these muscles and preventing light adult incontinence.
